Auspicious Ganesha Chaturthi Dates
Monthly Vinayaka Chaturthi Calendar for Nepal

Ganesha Chaturthi (also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi) is observed on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the bright fortnight (Shukla Paksha) of every month to receive Lord Ganesha's blessings. Days when the Chaturthi tithi falls during Madhyahna (solar midday) are considered most auspicious for worship and devotion.
Among all the Chaturthi celebrations throughout the year, Bhadra Shukla Chaturthi is celebrated as the most significant and special festival. It is believed that special worship and devotion to Lord Ganesha on this day brings happiness and peace to the household and removes all obstacles.
How to Observe Ganesha Chaturthi
Ganesha Chaturthi puja should ideally be performed during Madhyahna Muhurta (solar midday ± 1 hour) when the Chaturthi tithi is prevailing. This is the most auspicious time for worshipping Lord Ganesha.
Best Puja Timing
Perform puja during Madhyahna Muhurta shown in the table. This period is calculated as solar midday (Sunrise + half of day length) ± 1 hour.
Preparation
Clean the puja area, arrange flowers, modak (Ganesha's favorite sweet), fruits, and light incense. Keep red flowers and durva grass ready.
Worship Procedure
Invoke Lord Ganesha, offer prayers, perform aarti, and distribute prasad. Chant 'Om Gam Ganapataye Namah' 108 times for maximum benefit.
Significance
Monthly Chaturthi vrata removes obstacles, brings prosperity, and grants success in new ventures. The Bhadrapada Chaturthi is the most significant.
Understanding Chaturthi Tithi
The table shows when Chaturthi tithi begins and ends. Puja should be performed during Madhyahna when Chaturthi is prevailing, not necessarily when it starts.
Bhadrapada month Chaturthi is the main Ganesha Chaturthi festival, celebrated with great devotion across Nepal.
