Amavasya and Ancestral Worship
Amavasya, the New Moon night, is a time dedicated to self-reflection and Pitru Puja (honoring ancestors). It is believed that the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds is thin on this day, making prayers and offerings for ancestors more effective.
Observing silence, performing Shraddha, and offering water to ancestors are key traditions. While considered inauspicious for starting new worldly ventures, it is a powerful time for spiritual purification and honoring one's roots.
