Budha Planet Wednesday Vrat Katha
Once upon a time, a young man lived in a city. One day he went to his father-in-law's house to bring his newly-wedded wife back home. After spending a few days at his father-in-law's house, on Wednesday, the young man started taking his wife back. But everyone stopped him saying - "Today is Wednesday, people do not depart on this day. So take her tomorrow, it is just a matter of one day."
But that groom was determined that he had to take his wife back on Wednesday itself. Despite being explained by mother-in-law, father-in-law, and all the dignitaries and seniors, the man did not listen and departed towards his city after taking his wife. They had spent a lot of time traveling. So in the middle of the way, the newly-wedded wife said to her husband - "I am feeling very thirsty. I want water." The man saw that due to haste, he had not brought water with him. So getting down from the chariot and taking a vessel, he went out in search of water nearby.
As soon as the man returns with water after some time, he is very surprised. He sees that an unknown man with exactly the same appearance and attire as him is sitting in the chariot with his wife. Angry at this unexpected scene, the young man reached near the chariot and said in an angry tone - Who are you and why are you sitting near my wife in my chariot? That unknown man said - "She is my wife, I am just departing towards my destination after bringing her from her father-in-law's house."
A dispute started between the two men, seeing which a crowd of people gathered at that place. At that moment, the king's soldiers arrived there. That unknown person confused the soldiers with his words in such a way that they started taking the real husband prisoner who had brought water for his wife. One of the soldiers asked the newly-wedded wife - "Who among these two is your real husband?" Both of them were one hundred percent identical, it was impossible to distinguish between them. Therefore, the wife was also in a dilemma as to whom to call her real husband.
Seeing himself being imprisoned by the soldiers, the real husband of that woman started praying to God - "O Lord! What kind of illusion is this of yours? Even though I am true, I am being proved false. O God! What kind of play is this of yours because of which I have reached this difficult situation." At that same time, there was an oracle - "O fool! You should not have departed today on Wednesday. You did not listen to anyone. All this is the play of Lord Budha Dev." The man remembered Lord Budha Dev in his heart and asked for forgiveness for his mistake. At that same time, Budha Dev, who had come in the form of that unknown man, vanished from that place.
Thereafter, the soldiers also released him and he reached his home safely with his wife. From that day onwards, the husband and wife started observing the Wednesday fast regularly to please Budha Dev. Due to the effect of the fast, their life became full of joy and happiness.
The person who reads or listens to the Budha Budhavara Vrat Katha does not get the fault of traveling on Wednesday and attains various kinds of happiness.
